Family Budget
Version 1.0 · Effective 12 September 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Levi Dance (ABN 25 326 112 806) (“we”, “us”, “our”), the operator of Family Budget (the “Service”), collects, uses, discloses and protects your personal information. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
Family Budget is a private household budgeting tool that is currently in an invite-only alpha. By using the Service you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
We collect only what we need to run a household budget for you:
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your financial data for advertising or profiling.
We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in (a NextAuth session cookie). It is required for the Service to function. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers (“sub-processors”) we rely on to run the Service, and only as needed:
We also rely on infrastructure that supports the Service but does not receive your personal information: Healthchecks.io (anonymous uptime monitoring of our scheduled jobs — it receives only a signal that a job ran, never any of your data) and GitHub (where our source code is stored and from which the Service is deployed).
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or property of you, us or others.
Your budget data is stored in Australia. However, some of our sub-processors (such as Vercel, Stripe and Sentry) are based in, or operate infrastructure in, countries including the United States. By using the Service you consent to your personal information being handled by these providers, which may involve disclosure outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to use reputable providers with appropriate safeguards.
No online service can be completely secure. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active. You can export your budget data at any time from the Service. If you close your budget (using the reset/delete function) or ask us to delete it, we delete the associated budget data from our active database.
Some limited records are retained where we are required to, or need to, keep them — for example billing records for tax purposes, and a minimal log of processed payment events kept to prevent duplicate billing. These are retained no longer than necessary.
You may access most of your information directly in the Service, and edit or delete it there. You can also ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing levi@levidance.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable time. We may need to verify your identity first.
Account owners are adults: you must be 18 or over to create a budget or hold a subscription. We do not market the Service to children and children cannot sign themselves up.
However, a budget owner may invite their own child as a household member so the family can share a budget. Where a member is under 18, the budget owner acts as that child's parent or guardian: they decide to invite the child, consent on the child's behalf to this Policy and to the child's information being handled as described here, and control what the child can see and do. We rely on that parental consent for any minor member. If you are a parent or guardian and want a child's information removed, contact us at levi@levidance.com.au and we will delete it.
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the version and effective date at the top of this page, and where appropriate we will notify you in the Service.
For any privacy question or request, or to make a complaint about how we have handled your personal information, contact us at levi@levidance.com.au. We are based in Tasmania, Australia. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
